Windows 10: Internal Harddrive Disconnecting

Hi there I made a grave mistake of forgetting that my internal harddrive 1tb was not screwed in when i picked up my pc to move it, and it fell out of its seating to the bottom of the case. Nothing seems to have gone wrong at first. A few times over the next two weeks the harddrive didn't show in the bios and reconnecting the cables fixed it for a while.Then at the end of two weeks it got more frequent. Now after reconnecting the cables. The harddrive disconnects after only an hour.Can someone please advise me if my harddrive is damaged? I ordered an SSD recently and I am hoping that installing

Harddrive Disconnecting

Hello. Lately My internal SATA harddrive randomly disconnects about once a week now, when I go into BIOS it is not listed anymore. I fixed this by disconnecting the SATA and power cables and reconnecting it and it works again, however this keeps happening and I'm not sure if the cause is a faulty SATA cable, or a power setting.

I recently changed the power setting turn off harddrive after inactivity to never but will have to wait if it still happens. Please help if there are any other solutions.

It's a 1TB WD harddrive and its only a year old so there shouldn't be any problems, however the SATA cables are the same ones that came with my computer about 7 years ago.

You are right. Seagate Drive Settings is not listed in the supported software for Windows 10.
I have been using it with Windows 7 and 10 so I did not realize there was supposed to be a problem.

Seagate Dashboard should be used instead.





Select to Manage drive





Dashboard can be used for:

• Turn LED on/off
• Test drive
• Select Power saving mode

 

Best gaming harddrive Sugestion ???

Seagate states on their 750gb,32mb cache harddrive that the best application is video surveillance.(liquor stores,how very sad and completly overpriced for the amount of problems they have).Yet Passmark lists this near the top of their harddrive page.Any one have a suggestion for something that will last.(maybe samsung???)
Also I was considering a Raidmax hybrid 2 sli 630w powersupply.Any thoughts on Raidmax??
