Windows 10: Internal HDD D: Driver Missing From Computer

Hi, so, this started a few days ago where I had gone into my D: drive's properties from this pc and unchecked "compress this drive". My screen flickered for a moment and suddenly my D: drive was completely gone. I tried restarting my laptop and it showed up for an hour before being gone again. I tried every tip and trick I could find via google to the point I gave up and factory reset my entire laptop earlier today and still it doesn't show up. In Disk Management only my C: drive and all it's normal partisans show up just fine. In BIOS the D: drive doesn't show up at all. In Device Manager the

• Open File Explorer
• Right-click on the Drive D:
• Select Properties
• Click Security tab then select Advanced
• Select Change after the Owner: line

I love windows 10 and have recommended it to friends but this problem is driving me nuts... Any suggestions appreciated.

When waking computer after sleep the C: drive wakes and runs programs but internal HDD D: data is not recognised and remains asleep unless complete computer re-start/reboot.

Try the following methods and check if it helps:

Method 1: Run the Power troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Power.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to restore the power plan to default.

Follow the below steps:

1. Right click on Start button and click on
Control Panel.

2. Click on
Power Options.

3. Click on
choose when to turn off display from the left pane.

4. Click on
Restore default settings for this plan.

Unfortunately neither method 1 (running the power trouble-shooter)nor method 2 (resetting default power settings) worked.

Do you have any other suggestions?

I'm running:

Windows 10 Pro

AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.01GHz

32.0 GB RAM 64 bit OS, x64-based processor

full windows touch support with 10 touch points

Any suggestions appreciated.

When I look at the properties of the device I have what I think may be an event log as follows.

Device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{aabd81a3-2353-11e3-be6c-806e6f6e6963}#0000000000100000 requires further installation.

I'm not sure what this means.
