Windows 10: Internal HDD disappears randomly only at start up from File Explorer

Good day,This might get a bit long so here we go...Some stats:O.S.: Win 10 Pro 64 bit up to date as of todayMotherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair VII HERO WIFI BIOS and driver are up to dateCPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700Memory: Corsair Dominator running at 3000 MHzBoot Drive: Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD Drivers are up to dateGraphics Card: EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 Drivers are up to datePC Case: Corsair Obsidian 500D RGBI bought a new 10 TB WD Black internal HDD a couple of months ago which replaced a 4 TB WD Black internal HDD. I installed it with the known working power and data cable from the 4TB intern

HDD disappears from Explorer

All was fine until recently. There's been no hardware changes or software installs, apart from possibly Windows updates!

Physically all is fine.

A 2nd internal HDD (E randomly fails to appear in windows explorer. Rebooting the PC usually resorts the drive view.

Q - Why should this be happening?

 

Randomly disappearing taskbar and start icons

I have tried doing fresh installs of Windows 10 multiple times but I always face this issue where items in the start menu and/or taskbar jump lists disappear randomly. I am attaching a screenshot for this. This also happens when after I close any game (Eg. Battlefield 4, Tomb Raider etc).




The icons, though invisible are still working if I move my cursor over them and click them. Restarting explorer.exe fixed the problem temporarily.

Can you give us some more information.

You mentioned fresh install. Always from same source? Is media OK?
Did you try to clean jump lists, icon cache etc...

Picture shows icons are there, but no text. Is info behind still there? Hoover mouse pointer over icon with empty text box (not pinned, below in list) to see if text - path info shows..
