Windows 10: Internal mic driver missing from windows laptop.

Today my internal laptop mic has stopped working. I noticed on zoom it didn't pick it up and when I checked the drivers on my laptop my internal mic driver is not present with/without "show disabled drivers" being enabled. The microphone just seems to be gone from the system. It has previously stopped functioning before but I could always reboot the driver to get it working again, now it is just gone. I have reset my system multiple times and no luck. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Also is there a way I can redownload it with first/third-party software, or windows update?

Windows: 10 Pro

My internal laptop mic cannot picking up any sound, no green bars raising

I tried to install the latest driver (6.0.1.8010) and nothing happen, All disconnected and disabled recording devices are checked it is the default mic, and I uninstalled the driver, restarted my pc, and had the driver re-installed. No green bars, nothing moving

 

Internal mic removed by Windows 10?

Unfortunately, nothing on your Wiki article 'Updating a driver' worked because I
cannot find any such driver for the internal microphone [which Windows 10 has removed] ;

Nor does Dell -- the manufacturer of said "missing internal mic"-- list my laptop model (Compaq 610) and so I cannot find a driver there to download.

I'm just going to
uninstall Windows 10 and revert to Windows 7. With 7 I cannot play my music to a Bluetooth speaker -- which was a nice surprise that 10 can do very easily and without any fuss -- but at least I had a microphone to talk and skype!

It's all very tedious dealing with anything MS touches. Why would they create an OS that removes one's built-in microphone! It just beggars belief.

 

A problem with the internal mic

This is on a Gateway laptop model NV570P-18U, OS Win 10 Pro 64 bit. The Gateway has 1 audio jack for the mic and audio out. I have the audio adapter to have 2 jacks, in and out. I am trying to feed the audio out of my short wave receiver into the mic input on the laptop to decode digital ham radio transmissions. But the laptop is only hearing the internal mic. If I connect an external mic to the jack, the external mic works and the internal mic turns off. But I don't know why the internal mic won't turn off when the S/W receiver is plugged in. Is there a software switch available to manually turn off the internal mic?
