Windows 10: Internal Microphone Array IDT High Definition Audio Not Working

Product: HP EliteBook Folio 9470m Notebook PCOperating System: Microsoft Windows 11After installing Windows 11 on a new 128GB SSD, the default sound drivers volume was too low but the microphone was working. There were no audio drivers in the Windows 10 categoy on HP website, hence I tried audio drivers listed in Windows 8.1 64-bit category. Original sound of the laptop came back but my microphone is not recording anything even though it shows installed perfectly alright as below. With the external audio headset hands-free, I can easily record anything though.Can you please sugge

IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Not Working

Taking those steps changed the devices in the playback (now they're "2- High Definition Audio Device" instead of "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC". But unfortunately, I still cannot
hear anything, though it did fix my problem where my microphone would say "Currently unavailable".

I suggest you to update the driver and check if the issue persist.

Follow the steps to Update the driver and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X key and click
  Device Manager.
• Select IDT High Definition Audio CODEC on Device Manager.
• Select the Driver tab.
• Click on Update Driver.
• Select the option “browse my computer for driver software”.
• Select the option “let me pick up a list of device drivers on my computer”.
• Select the High Definition Audio Device instead of IDT High Definition" And click next.

Internal microphone array disappeared after Win10 upgrade (not just 'disabled' or 'unplugged').

For everyone else out there who has the same problem, I have now found the answer in this post on the Dell Community Forum:

I downloaded and installed the Windows7 IDT driver and the Microphone Array now shows as 'IDT High Definition Audio CODEC'.

It is set as the default device and is working normally.
