Windows 10: Internal microphones Realtek stopped working in past 3 days.

Microphone does not work in Zoom or an online card game but does work in other apps. Recommended troubleshooting has not solved the problem. My laptop is an HP Pavilion Notebook running Win 10, all updates installed. Two driver updates were installed on the day it stopped working:

IntelR Corporation - System - 10.24.0.3694 and IntelR Corporation - System - 10.24.3694.200. Various security updates for Microsoft Defender were installed. Any help would be appreciated.

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

Step by step fix:

• I went into recording devices
• I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
• Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't

Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

 

internal microphone not working

hello all, I got a new laptop and 2 days into using it the internal microphone stopped working. I tried videochatting and it just wasn't picking up any sound.

• I am sure that it is enabled, and set as default microphone
• all my windows updates are updated
• I updated all individual drivers that had anything to do with this internal mic in device manager
• I also tried uninstalling it and restarting my laptop
• troubleshooting it has been giving out the same response for a day now: audio not working and I discovered that the issue is with this guy

All other sounds work (like songs, videos, movies), but it just refuses to pick up any sound. The main concern that I have is that the previous day, I had a zoom meeting and it was working perfectly, fast forward to yesterday and it suddenly stopped.

My laoptop is the ASUS zenbook flip 14'', ryzen 5, vega radeon 8, and I have windows 10 installed on it.

Internal Realtek microphone array not working in Windows 10

Original title: Internal Realtek microphone array not working

As the title suggests I my internal Realtek microphone is not working. As this seems to be a casual problem under Win 10 I am hoping for some clue how to proceed. No matter wich app, it does not respond. The bar in the device manager next to the microphone
does not respond as well so this is not app related, rather a General Problem.

My PC is a Lenovo AIO A700 and it already came shipped with Windows 10 and here is what I did so far:

- I uninstalled and deleted the Driver then rebooted -> Problem persists

- Downloaded the latest driver from the manufacturers site (Lenovo) -> Problem persists

- did change the properties of the recording device according to several posts in this Forums -> Problem persists

The first device in this list is the culprit, a Realtek dual microphone.





Also tried +20.0 dB and +30.0 dB -> Problem persists





Also tried: deactivate all sound effects/deactivate immediate mode -> Problem persists





Also tried: CD Quality/deactivate exclusive mode -> Problem persists

I even tried the generic Driver from the realtek site but the Problem still persists. <I noticed there had been some kind of major update in the past days which also forced me to reinstall the graphic drivers.

I would be relieved if this were a known issue and Microsoft is working on it. Even better though if somebody has a solution to my problem.
