Windows 10: Internal Speakers on monitor have stopped working - windows 10

I have had a Philips monitor on my PC for 18months and its internal speakers have been working fine.Suddenly stopped working - have I pressed something wrong somewhere??

Switching off internal computer speakers

This is a subject that has been raised before but Microsoft seems to refuse to answer. As a result of a previous update to Windows 10, the internal computer speakers work as well as the external sound system. There is no apparent way to switch off the
internal speakers and just have the external sound system working. A previous contributor suggested that Microsoft had a solution to this bug but wouldn't elaborate. This seemed very childish.

I ask the question again: Could someone give a step by step process for switching off internal computer speakers AND leaving the external speakers working. I have tried every setting but nothing fixes the problem. Surely this isn't rocket science and
it would be easy for Microsoft to write a bug fix???

Lack of action just infuriates users unnecessarily.

 

Nextbook flexx 10 internal speakers not working

Okay, so I use my tablet in desktop form to take online tests, which I need sound for because they are proctored through live video. When I upgraded to Windows 10, my sound stopped coming out of my speakers. It does still work through my headphones,
and it even says that the internal speakers are "working properly" even though they are not. I spent hours online with Microsoft support watching them take all of the steps that I had already taken MULTIPLE TIMES. With that being said, I have already tried
ALL OF THE STEPS listed on the Microsoft website, MULTIPLE times, so please DO NOT tell me to try any of them because I may just lose my mind . I have tried every sound driver listed in my computer already, and all that I can find online and none of them
work. I have downloaded drivers from everywhere including directly from Intel. I contacted Nextbook support, and they told me I needed to completely revert back to Windows 8 and then I could re-upgrade to Windows 10, with sound...BUT there was not even sound
in Windows 8 . Someone PLEASE help!!!!! This issue is literally making me go insane...

 

Internal Speakers Stopped Working -HP Pavilion g6 LU897AV in Windows 10--headphones do work forum fixes did not work

Notebook HP Pavilion g6 LU897AV in Windows 10: Internal Speakers stopped working; Headphones do work. Executed step-by-step forum fix--did not work. [downloaded the IDT Audio installer- sp55026.exe;
Uninstalled current driver; shut down notebook-unplugged AC adapter, removed battery, held Power button down for full 30 seconds, re-inserted battery, plugged in AC adapter, powered up notebook while tapping ESC button to access BIOS, Pressed F9 to load defaults,
saved(YES); Pressed F10 to save changes(YES). Windows loaded up, in Downloads folder found the sp55026.exe file, ran it as Administrator, selected it as the Default Speaker--checked for Audio from internal speakers--Nothing (silence of the lambs). Restarted
PC, tried playing wav file--nothing from internal speakers--plugged in Headphone--and they still/continued to work]. So: have the internal speakers ever worked yes, always until yesterday--ran fixes & researched a myriad of online hints & clues--Windows
troubleshooter advises nothing is wrong and the most current "drivers are working"---NOTHING has worked. I'm hoping WINDOWS 10 expertise can provide a fix that RETURNS internal speakers to functioning optimally. Thanks/still hopeful--but frustrated.
