Windows 10: Internet appears connected but will not open webpages or run programs online

In the taskbar, the ethernet icon appears connected and should be all ok, but when running programs or a browser, they will be unable to connect in any way.

I do have a family web blocker installed but I am sure this is not the issue as we have tried disabling it.

I have also attempted other forms of troubleshooting, including restarting the computer and internet system, reinstalling network drivers and resetting internet systems.

I believe this may have happened directly after a Windows update.
I can provide any logs or information if needed.

Kick or Ban who is connected with my internet ?


You would have to do that on your Router's setup webpage. 1st step is to turn on WiFi encryption and password. 2nd step, if you feel you need to, is set up an access list of the physical MAC addresses for the network adapters of the computers you want to allow to connect. Any other network adapter not on that MAC filter list won't be able to connect. (but MAC addresses can be easily spoofed, if the third person knows which MAC addresses are allowed).
