  1. Internet Connection constantly dropping every few minutes.

I am at my wits end with this nonsense, i'm using Windows 10 and have a shitty realtek 8821AE Wireless that no matter what I do, drops my internet and is turning me into a homicidal maniac.

I cannot have this continue, it is ruining projects, college work and everything else I do on the internet.

I've tried unchecking the power management box that "turns it off"
    i've tried updating drivers
    I've tired reinstalling
i've tried a dozen things and nothing works

This has got to stop or it's going to be destroyed with a sledgehammer.

    :)

  3. Wifi connection dropping every few minutes in Windows 10

    Hi Scooper23,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. I will definitely help you with this.

To guide you in right direction we want to know:

    • Have you installed all the updates on your computer?
    • Have you updated all your drivers?
    • Have you made any recent changes to your Laptop?
I suggest you to follow below method and check:

    Method 1:

Try installing the Wi-Fi driver in compatibility mode:

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    • Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

    • Right-click on the driver setup file and click on
      ‘properties’.

    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists
    Refer to this article on

How to: Install and Update drivers in Windows 10

    Method 2:

    Run built in Network troubleshooters

    * Press Windows Key then type ‘troubleshoot’ and hit Enter

    * Select “View all” on the left panel and run “Internet connections” troubleshooter from the list and see if it works. Also try to run
Network Adapter troubleshooter to see any issues with it.

Wired and wireless network problems: Refer the below link

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/...1&v2h=win7tab1&v3h=winvistatab1&v4h=winxptab1

Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you.

Highly doubt that it is your wifi adapter. Most likely the gateway. Also claiming violence against equipment means that it is time for someone to take a break and walk away until you cool off.

  7. Yeah that's real helpful thanks.

I'm glad instead of helping me out you're telling me to walk away from my college work that needs to be done.

that makes a lot of sense *Smile

what an incredibly well reasoned, and useful response!

if you're not going to help, please don't waste my time.

  8. Internet Connection constantly dropping every few minutes.

    Hi Matt Tygore,

I had the same issue like you and tried all those you written down there. Fortunately recently, I have got this issue resolved by myself. Hope it also work for you..

    1) Click on the WiFi signal icon on your computer taskbar to open the WiFi page that contains a list of different network names.
    2) Right-click on the WiFi box (please refer to the attached snapshot where the cursor pointed) and you will see a message Go to Settings.
    3) Click on Go to Settings, click on Manage Known Networks.
    4) On Manage Known Networks, you might see a list of all your saved networks from the past to the current ones (if you had saved not only one network names onto your computer).
    5) Right-click on the network names that you don't want and click on Forget to remove them away and, only keep the one network name that you always want to connect with.
    6) Open Network Settings which you can found on the WiFi page (the first snapshot), make sure you have turned off for the other settings there (as shown on next snapshot attached).
    7) By doing all the above, the WiFi connection will not automatically disconnect itself no matter what you do to the computer (e.g, restart computer or put the computer to sleep).

    Good luck!

This is not how you get help. You came here for help and posted a statement that does not help you, especially if you are stating that you would rather destroy your computer than get help for what is going wrong.

The Wifi access Point is the first thing to check for power levels, any channel overlap from other access points. That means using inSSIDer to get real time results of what is going on.

Telling someone to not help will get you ignored and no one will answer your posts.

I've been reading a bunch of threads about intermittent Internet access issues, and something interesting has started to emerge. It seems that Win10 AU sets Power Management for NICs to allow the computer to turn off the device to save power. It also seems that on some systems, including laptops and PCs, coming back from that power off state is problematic or not working. Here's what this looks like:

Uncheck the box that reads "Allow the computer to turn off this device..." and see if that doesn't help, please. If not, keep calm and carry on!

  11. Despite the age of the pots (made almost a year ago), I found this incredibly helpful... instead of buying an external WiFi card adapter, which could mean wasted money, I applied it and will see if it helps or resolves my issue. Here's what I've done thus far:
