Windows 10: Internet Connection Upload Cutting Out Intermittently On Only My PC.

So I've been having this issue for the past two weeks and have tried everything I can to fix it. What is happening is that about every 2-30 minutes, my computer's internet upload is cut out completely for about 10 seconds while the download continues to work perfectly fine. Here's what I've determined about this problem:

- It has nothing to do with the router or provider, so it must be a hardware or software problem on my PC

- The download speed continues to work

- The problem still occurs on other Wi-Fi networks i.e. Mobile Hotspot on my phone

- The problem is limited to my PC only. There are several other devices using the same wi-fi and they all work perfectly fine

- It seems to be relatively unique, as i have not been able to find anyone with the exact same problem

- I also have an update called "2020-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems KB4528760"


This is what I have tried to do to fix the problem:

- Ran ALL the troubleshooters

- Ran System Restore as far back as possible

- Updated my Network Adapters to the latest version

- Updated System Firmware

- Extended DHCP lease renewal to 144 hours 6 days

- Scanned using "sfc /scannow" and "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" in Windows Powershell Administrator

- "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" didn't show results of the scan after several tries

- Updated my PC with the recommended updates except for "2020-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems KB4528760"- Disabling the Power Management settings on my network drivers

- Used my anti-virus to scan my PC

- Likely various other methods I may have missed a few


If anyone has any idea how to fix this, I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

Losing internet connection intermittently only on laptop

For us to know the reason why your laptop is losing internet connection intermittently and how to fix it, we would like to know more information:

• Have you tried updating your drivers?
• Did you receive any error messages?

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it will solve the issue:

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Internet Connections.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

We suggest you to update the Network adapters driver from the Device Manager.

Follow the below steps:

1. Right click on Start button and click on
Device Manager.

2. Expand the
Network adapters driver from the list.

3. Right click on the driver and click on
Update driver Software.

Intermittent internet connection

Hi all,
Basically for the last few weeks I have been having some real problems with my internet in my house. I have a netgear wireless router connected to the phone line (through a microfilter obviously), which is connected to about 4 PCs via ethernet, and 1 PC wirelessly. All other phone sockets in the house have microfilters on as well. This set up has been working fine for a few years now, but recently we got back from holiday and the internet seems really dodgy throughout the house.
Basically what will happen is that sometimes web pages will load and work normally, but quite often they just won't load and firefox will come up with 'page cannot be displayed' or whatever. Usually if you refresh a few times it will load, but basically the whole time the connection is really dodgy.
The router has a constant connection to the internet, which isn't affected when these random dropouts occur, I can check the adsl uptime in the router settings and it shows however long since I last switched off the router.
I have connected a different router (linksys) to the phone line, but got the same problems. Actually one time with the linksys, the internet didn't work at all (although it said it was connected in the router settings page) so I switched back to the netgear.
I have connected a phone (N95) to the wifi and it showed the same symptoms, usually coming up with 'no gateway reply' or something on the screen. This suggests to me that it is not a software (firewall etc) problem with any of the computers. The second router pretty much rules out router problems.
I have phoned up my internet provider (tiscali :shadedshu) and havent really got much help. Basically they ran some diagnostics and couldn't find any problems with the connection. Today when I phoned them they told me to plug the router into the master phone line in the house, and they are going to monitor the internet usage for the next 24 hours and get back to me. I suspect they won't find anything.
I have no idea what could be causing these problems, it is really getting annoying! *Bang Head :banghead:

Can anyone help me out? *Confused I've never experienced anything like this so I can't really come up with any ideas...

 

Intermittent internet connection issues

There are some reasons that causes this error connection reset. Let’s try to identify the root cause and apply the appropriate solution to fix this.

I suggest you to run the network troubleshooter first, and check if the issue persists. To run the troubleshooter, follow the below steps:

1. Press ‘Windows + X’ key.
   
2. Select ‘Control panel’
   
3. In the search box, type ‘Troubleshooter’ and then click ‘Troubleshooting’
   
4. Under ‘Network and Internet’ click on ‘Network adapter’ and click on ‘Next’ button.
   

Try to update the network adapter and check if the issue persists.

1. Press ‘Windows + X’ key.
   
2. Expand the network and adapter’
   
3. Right click on the device, and select ‘Update driver software’
   
4. Restart the computer and check.
   
5. You can also check for updates from the system manufacturer site.
   

Check proxy settings by doing the below steps:

1. Go to Control panel – Internet options.
   
2. Click on ‘Connections’ tab.
   
3. Click on ‘LAN settings’
   
4. Uncheck ‘Use a Proxy server for your LAN’ check box, and click ‘Ok’
   

I also suggest you to reset IP Address by following the below steps.

1. Press Windows key, and type ‘Command prompt’
   
2. Right click on it and select ‘Run as administrator’
   
3. Type the following command without quotes, and press enter: ‘netsh winsock reset catalog’
   
4. Restart the system once and check if the issue persists.
   

Try to disable Kaspersky firewall and check if that helps

1. Open the Kaspersky Internet Security program.
   
2. Click the ‘Settings’ button.
   
3. Click the ‘Firewall component’ option under Protection Center.
   
4. Select the ‘Enable Firewall’ option to remove the check mark.
