Hello everyone,

I have run into a unique issue earlier this week where my laptop is unable to connect to the Internet in just one specific spot in my apartment. Long story short, my laptop refuses to connect to the Internet when I set it on my desk.

For context:

• I am using a mobile hotspot connection from my phone (phone is able to connect to the Internet just fine)
  
• Have tried someone else's mobile hotspot and laptop hotspot connections as well. I don't have a home WiFi connection yet, hence, the hotspots.
  
• Another laptop in the house is able to connect while on the desk just fine
  
• Desk is just a normal IKEA desk, I have had it for a couple of months and it was working fine prior to this
  
• There is no other device on the desk except an HP monitor, which, again, I have had for a couple of months and faced no issues.
  
• I have tried all troubleshooting steps, likely resetting network adapter, specifying DNS servers (and flushing DNS cache), restart, updating the OS, etc.
  
• As soon as I take it off the desk, the same connection is able to connect me to the Internet
  
• Laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad T15 Gen 1 I have had for 2.5 years, never faced an issue like this
  

I would be grateful if anyone is able to provide any leads or suggestions as to what to try, as this spot is the only spot I can place my desk in the apartment and I'm having to work without a desk for the last few days.

1)Does the laptop detect the phone's hotspot network when the 2 devices are placed on the desk?

2)What is the error message you receive when you try to connect to the hotspot? Post a screenshot.

3)Are you connecting via the 2.4, 5 or 6 GHz network?

Try the following steps:

• 
  Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.
  
• 
  Click “View All”
  
• 
  Select "Internet Explorer connection"
  
•
