Windows 10: Internet disconnects at random times and won't reconnect until I restart it

    Internet disconnects at random times and won't reconnect until I restart it


    I've been having this issue lately maybe since like last year.

    My pc will randomly disconnect and if I try to connect it to my wifi it won't let me forcing me to restart the pc to be able to reconnect. It gives me the error message "" like in the image I attached

    Is it possible to fix this somehow? I have online classes and it's kinda hard to concentrate when Im disconnecting every hour or so :<

    Router disconnects from internet and reconnects

    My router has been acting up lately. Its been disconnecting from the internet and eventually reconnects overtime. But the disconnect happens so frequently, its annoying and I've reverted to asking for help.

    don't get me wrong here.
    I mean there are a few steps that I know of which no one has suggested.

    The reason why I ask ADSL or Cable is because they work differently (obviously).
    Since its Cable I wont bother with ADSL for now.

    You 100% correct about the MAC address because cable authentic via MAC address.
    But there are heaps of simple things he can do before he contacts his ISP which may just get him to waste his time, such as checking the lights on the modem which usually are from top down

    Online

    Activity
    Standby

    If the power light doesn't go solid green it indicates a power problem.
    check power cables.

    If receive and send light aren't flashing signal problem.
    check coaxial cable connection (also its a good idea to disconnect it and reconnect it to reset the signal)

    If receive is on and send is flashing.
    You can adjust the signal frequency inside the interface of the modem.

    I used to work in a ISP and majority of the time just disconnecting the Coaxial cable and reconnecting it solves the problem. Also adjusting the has helped in situations.

    Hi all, I have a clean install windows 10 home with the specs listed in my profile.

    Im getting continuous disconnect USB sounds, often multiple times in a row, and the occasional reconnect sound.

    Ive used a program call USBDeview, and can confidently say it is the top tow devices that disconnect and reconnect. I'm unsure what they are and how to solve the problem.

    It doesnt happen 24/7, but sometimes it will do it for 40 mins and sometimes 5 mins then stop etc etc, very random.

    I dont have any External HDD plugged into drives J K L M, but they normally get assigned to .iso's or Portable HDD's.
