Windows 10: Internet is connected and works for the most part, but the icon still shows the not...

So the internet works fine for the most part when it has nothing to do with microsoft. I can browse and play steam games. Windows seems to have trouble realizing I'm connected. Because of it I can't do windows update, can't use windows store, and a few other windows related things.I have seen many many threads trying to help but most of them have none marked as a solutions but the ones that do have not worked for me. I'm tired of looking for threads.The thing in my situation is that this problem started when I moved to a new place and I do have a new router. I doubt it to be the problem howeve

  I was not able to work on this issue yesterday ( busy for a 90 year old). This evening I was able to take the steps that were suggested in your email.
  
  When I use “Device Manager” I click “ Network Adapters” I see “ Wifi” but not Eternet in this list. On the “Settings” I click “Wifi” which shows the “On' button.
  

I click” Show available networks”. I wanted to capture the page that is shown, but it will not show. The top line is Network ( connected) but course I have the Ethernet cable connected. Also showing Is Five “ Broadband connections” At the bottom is
“ Network and Internet settings” I hope for your continued help.

 

Wireless icon shows red x and says connected to internet

To resolve your concern regarding the red (x) showing on your wireless icon, we suggest that you clear all preferred wireless networks from your network configuration by following the steps below:

• Click on Windows + I to launch Settings, and then choose
  Network & Internet.
• Choose the WiFi tab, and then scroll down to find Manage known networks. Click it.
• You will see a list of old wireless networks. Choose each and click on the
  Forget button to delete all of them.
• Go to Network Connections, and make sure your wireless adapter is enabled by right clicking and selecting
  enable.
• Make sure your WiFi router is working properly and there’s no network problem with your local area network.
