Windows 10: Internet is slower on my desktop than my laptop.

I have a desktop that I made that has an ethernet port that is cable of 1 Gbps and a newer laptop with the same capabilities. When downloading the same game through steam using the same Ethernet cable, I get 1Gbps on my laptop but at most 250 Mbps on my desktop. What could be the problem? There is the difference that the laptop has windows 11 while the desktop has windows 10.I am using an SSD on both devices and I have already tried everything that the guy "Andre For Directly" posted to do in the web link below.https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/solved-internet-is-slower-on-

Wireless laptop - wired desktop - internet

I'd recommend a wireless router. Plug the desktop into the router via wired cable. Plug your Internet device into the router. And then the laptop will have wireless Internet access.

Most desktops have wired integrated. Most laptops have wireless integrated. All you should need is a router and maybe some cables. Wireless routers start around $50 USD.

 

Is it possible to share internet connection via remote desktop?

RDP is not capable of Internet sharing, so you can't share Internet using RDP with standard applications. There are many way to share Internet from a Windows box to another one. I suggest you to use VPN. You should do following steps:

1. Run VPN Server on your server with unlimited internet access
   
2. Connect to VPN server from your limited computer
