Windows 10: Internet keeps dropping out, "No internet, secured"

I'm currently running Windows 10 on a Dell desktop computer.About a year or two ago, there was a period of several months where my internet regularly dropped out and gave me the "No internet, secured" message. This problem was limited to my desktop machine. Every other device in the house connected to it without problems. Back then, I tried all the stock solutions that are regularly given on the internet, but none of them ever fixed the problem permanently. It got to where my most reliable option was to reset my router and enjoy using the internet until it inevitably dropped out again.Somehow

About a year or two ago, there was a period of several months where my internet regularly dropped out and gave me the "No internet, secured" message. This problem was limited to my desktop machine. Every other device in the house connected to it without problems. Back then, I tried all the stock solutions that are regularly given on the internet, but none of them ever fixed the problem permanently. It got to where my most reliable option was to reset my router and enjoy using the internet until it inevitably dropped out again.

Somehow or another, the problem eventually fixed itself. To this day, I don't know what it was. For about the last year, I'd been enjoying the internet without any recurring connectivity issues.

However, last month, our router died on us, so we had to go to the provider and exchange it for a new one. The new router works fine, but the old problem with my connection regularly dropping out has returned. It's the same as before: Only my desktop computer has this problem; everything else in the house connects fine.

I don't know whether the router itself has to make some kind of special connection to my desktop, since this problem only resurfaced once we got the new router. There are also occasionally times when the internet will suddenly come back after having previously dropped out, but I don't know what causes that.

There's a long list of "solutions" to this problem that everyone always posts, and I've probably tried them all. Please don't tell me to flush the DNS. Please don't tell me to set a custom IP address. Please don't tell me to reset my network settings. I've done everything that regularly gets suggested, and none of them solves the problem permanently.

The troubleshooter gives the message:

"Wi-fi" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Based on this information, does anyone have any idea what I should do?

Internet Connection Keeps Dropping


Hello, are you always connected to the same router - or are you skipping to others? Suggest disabling these settings:




Also check your channel is not congested, and signal strength is adequate. There are freeware tools which can show you this information.

You might have to change band (frequency) - and in one scenario where someone was renting a place it was suggested the owner was restricting Wifi bandwidth...!

I'm sure others more experienced in these issues will comment.

 

My internet keeps dropping out!


I suggest you connect your laptop to the router with a ethernet cable. If the wired connection is stable you know that there is nothing wrong with the internet connection itself and with your LAN. Next step would be to go to the website of your laptop manufacturer and look for the latest WLAN drivers. Install them and test whether it improves the reliability of your WLAN connection. Then post back the results.
