Windows 10: Internet network disappeared

My daughter's lenovo laptop had an update and her internet completely disappeared. This is happening for the 2nd time. I don't know what to do because I can't download anything because i can't connect it with ethernet since it doesn't have a port for it. Last time I just did a system restore and it worked. This time it didn't.

Wifi disappears from abailable networks

Hi,

We suggest you to run the Network Troubleshooter to check if what is causing the issue. To do that, follow the steps below:

• Click Windows icon.
• Type Troubleshooting.
• Click Network and Internet.
• Click Internet Connections.
• A box will open, click Next to proceed with the troubleshooter.
  

If the issue still persists, you may get in touch with your device manufacturer to check for updated driver.

this hard drive is not connected to my computer, it is connected to my wireless router.

after scanning for hardware changes as you suggested in step one, there is no usb hard drive
listed on my computer, either in the device manager, or in the network list in file manager which includes both computers connected to the router. this computer is recognizing the router, internet, and other computers connected to the router.
it is not recognizing the hard drive connected tot he wireless router.

I checked my wireless router to see if the usb hard drive is discoverable and verified that it is.
