Windows 10: Internet not acccessible after Office 2013 update

Yesterday, my Windows 10 Surface Pro 2 did an install of updates to Office 2013. Since then, my internet does not work on the Surface Pro even though it shows that the computer is connected to wifi. The message is "No Internet. Secured". I uninstalled the Office 2013 update and rebooted, but the problem remains. I know that the problem is not with the modem because the Internet is accessible on my other computer.


My computer was working well before the Office 2013 update. So how can I fix this?

Windows Updated Repeatedly Offers Updates for Old Version of Office (2013)

For the past few months my work laptop has continuously offered me updates for legacy versions of Microsoft Office/Skype for Business. I've gone through a variety of steps to ensure that all legacy versions of Office have been removed, yet the updates continue
to be offered. Here is an overview of my system:

• Dell XPS 15 9560
• Windows 10 Enterprise (1709 build 16299.98)
• Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus (1710 build 8625.2139 Click-to-Run)

To be clear, this laptop has only ever had office 2016 installed. At one point I did install the InfoPath and SharePoint tools (which I believe are based on Office 2013) that Office365 offers for download - but they've since been uninstalled. I have never
had Access, Outlook, or Word 2013 installed - for example. The only version now listed under Apps & Features is Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus -en-us.

In terms of troubleshooting - I have completed the following:

• Completely uninstall any/all Office related applications
• Reinstalled from Office365 download
• Run Office uninstall easy fix tool (multiple times, with reboots between) - eventually reports that all traces of office have been removed
• Reinstalled from Office364 download
• Uninstalled all Office related updates from Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features\Installed Updates
• Run Windows Update troubleshooter
• Cleared data from C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
• Run SFC (no issues found)
• Run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (no issues found, but ran the restore anyway)

I would very much appreciate any ideas of guidance, and am willing to provide additional detail as required.
