  1. Internet seems metered

I have tested my connection on all 5 of my devices and got a normal full speed of about 300mbps down. But on my second desktop computer I can only get a connection speed of about 25-26mbps down. It is acting like it has a metered connection but I have no clue what could be causing this, windows has it un-metered and I have went into the device manager and ensured drivers are up to date on the brand new wifi card in addition to making sure power settings are not allowed to turn the device off. Any ideas on what the culprit could be?

    :)

  2. OneDrive - Metered Connection

    Hi Sayyid,

Since you're using a SIM to be able to use the internet, Windows 10 automatically set your connection as metered if your Internet service provider limits the data you can use.

You can turn the Set as metered connection option to OFF by following these steps:

    • Click the Internet access icon from the Taskbar.
    • Click the network where you are connected, then click Properties.
    • Locate and toggle the Set as metered connection to OFF.

Let us know if the message still appears after following the above mentioned steps.

    Regards.

    Internet seems metered

I just recieved the Windows 10 upgrade. What is a metered account?

Because Windows 10 is also available on cell phones, this is here. Metered connection is the data usage on your cell network. If you are using home internet you can disregard the metered connection item.

Win 10 update on a slow, metered internet connection ?: I have not seen this question on here so far. It sounds like the upgrade will be sent by MS at their will. How would a 2-3 gig download work on a slow, metered connection. I wonder if there will be some other way? I have to do large downloads between 2 and 7 AM. 6781
