Internet speeds are all over the place, both win10 pro pc's with gigabyte Ethernet but mostly half the speed.I have used network reset to defaults, turned off energy-efficient Ethernet in the modem-router, used cat8 cables, set Netgear gs308e QoS 802.1p DSCP based or port-based, changing from one to another = no change; the switches are gigabyte Ethernet and connected at that rate.If I bypass the switches, no difference in the speeds testing from the Ookla app downloaded from their website or the one from the Microsoft Store, the test is almost the same at around 500MBPS.But every other test in

    Gigabyte motherboards and Windows 10

A few steps that may work.

Go to device manager and expand the network adapter.

Go to power management settings tab and turn options to off.

Go to the driver settings and uncheck wake wlan and low power states.

Check that the connection speed is the higher set, win10 likes to use the lower speed for some reason.

If you are using a microsoft account on win10 to login to the pc, there is a delay in network connections on both lan and wifi; more so on wifi.

Also go to menu, settings, network and internet; check if vpn is enabled or metered connections are active.

Last I would check the lan cable is ok, equal or higher than the lan device and see if it is connecting at the right speed or if the modem, router supports that speed ( a gigabyte lan device can only run at that speed if the cable and modem, router support

  3. Win10 PC with an Ethernet card but no Internet.

We have a Win10 PC with an Ethernet card and on the MB Ethernet. Both NIC's show up in the device manager OK. However, in the "Network and Internet" panel, there is No "Ethernet" on the left between "dial-up" and "proxy". It is not there. The PC cannot
    see the internet. Please advise

Windows 10 Pro Internet Speed Limitation?

    Hi guys.
I've had to mark this as unresolved and bring it back up as the issue has returned. I am not sure what it is that is causing this as I haven't installed any program that would limit, manage/handle bandwidth usage.
Below are a few screenshots of my Programs and Features list and the list of Windows Updates:

To also note; I have done a few speedtests and the result is the same as before I reinstalled Windows. (100-144Mbps) After reinstalling, for a few weeks I was getting my full speed. (380Mbps) Then it suddenly capped. My iPhone XR (being connected to my 5GHz WiFi network) gets the full speed.

I have also redone the "tweaks" for trying to remove the limitation as in tutorials on Google. No help. None of these "fixes" actually work. That is to say; updating my network card driver (in this case my TP-Link TG-3468 Gigabit Ethernet PCI card), using Command Prompt with the few commands suggested to use, GPEdit.msc, etc. None of these work. Windows 10 is still limiting/capping my Internet and it is beyond frustrating. Delivery Optimization is also disabled and Limit Reservable Bandwidth in QoS Packet Scheduler is set to 0%.

I should also note that my Private Internet Access VPN is disabled.

Update: Typing this into an elevated command prompt seemed to allow me to use more of my speed, but not 350Mbps+.
I'm assuming it is peak times at the moment.
