    Internet speeds gone down after new PC build


    Yesterday I built a new pc changing most of the parts, but i kept the wifi card and gpu. Ever since I have built it, internet speeds have been way lower than usual. In my last build, epic games would download around 14mbps and steam around 40. Now, epic games wont even reach 4mbps and most of the time is under 1 whereas steam averages around 30 . I have the wifi card connected under a gpu lane and have double checked everything is plugged in and tightened down correctly, plugged it in via the dedicated wifi card lane and went through all of my windows settings including device manager to mak

    New PC

    You would have to look up the games Max requirements and buy one that meets and exceeds the games Maximum specifications such as ( Processing Power / Memory requirements / Graphics requirements / Internet connection @ speed requirements ).

    A bad or low Internet connection can induce lag.

    • OR : Have a custom Computer built for yourself by a reputable agent who possibly is a Gamer his-self and knows his mettle.
    • To save money it would probably be better to do some research on the game and its MAX requirements and Internet Speed requirements for lag free operation " AND " if you are computer savvy build it yourself.

    Slow Internet speed on only one computer.

    Hi Cody,

    Slow internet speed on one of your computer could be due to the following:

    • Outdated network adapter driver
    • Different Wi-Fi chipset
    • Computer processing speed

    Make sure that the network driver of your computer(s) are always updated.

    We also suggest you to contact your internet service provider for them to check your internet connection speed and give you more information.
