Windows 10 S and Windows 10 Home

Yes, Windows 10 S is the newest edition of Windows 10 introduced by MS. The only unique thing about S is that it runs apps only from the Store. You cannot run native win32 apps from it. Windows 10 S only ships with newer devices such as Surface laptop

Is Windows 10 S going to be sold by itself ? i know it is currently only available on the new surface laptops.

I'm really disappointed that here in the UK we only get one colour that you can pre-order while the US has several.

I was going to pre-order one, but I think I'll wait now to see if we get any colours after launch.

From the reviews that I have seen thus far, I'm pretty impressed with the ability to go to sleep and wake back up from sleep. This is one thing my mac has done much better over the years than any WIndows based laptop that I have ever used.

For $999, it really seems it should come with more than 4GB of RAM.

The cost to upgrade from Windows 10s to Windows 10 Pro is $49 if you are not a student or educator. Students and teachers can upgrade for free until Dec 31, 2017.

Obviously this device is non-upgradeable, so unlike many other laptops which have come before it, you have to buy it with the amount of RAM and Hard Drive. So you cannot buy in cheaper and upgrade later.

And I'm slightly skeptical about this cloth based keyboard cover. Will it stain, will it hold up to daily use, etc.

An 8GB, Core i7 with 256GB SSD is $1600.

I'm still hoping this isn't the replacement for the Surface Book Pro. Was going to get a Surface Book Pro with the Performance base till I heard Microsoft was going to replace/upgrade it. If this is the replacement for the SB2, I'm a bit disappointed. Hopefully there's more to come.
