Windows 10: invisible icons

    Invisible windows app icons and lost thumbnails.


    I had some invisible icons on my taskbar (not all of them, seems to be only windows apps) and I tried an online fix which suggested deleting the icon cache. However, this didn't work and now I have no thumbnails for any of my files so I can't tell what anything is. Very frustrating so would appreciate any help.

    Task bar icons are invisible! Help needed!

    My taskbar icons are invisible like example i right click on my pinned icon like "Chrome" and all of "Most visited" and "Recently closed" are all invisible the whole section is invisible except the icons it has no letters... Anyone please help me its annoying...

    Microsoft apps Icons became invisible

    The icons of Microsoft Apps have become invisible on the task bar (Groove Music, Settings, Mail...) like here: Calculator Icon invisible on Taskbar.

    I am on a Lenovo X1 carbon with windows 10 Home v1709 64-bit.

    After reading Q&As, I tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest updates, but it didn't help. I tried to restore to a prior version but the recovery would not work with the antivirus and when I uninstalled my antivirus, somehow the recovery version had
    disappeared, so I have no recovery version prior to the bug. I tried sfc scannow but it didn't work. I also tried to remove all the task bar items as suggested in other posts. Nothing seems to work and I would prefer not to do a complete clean up that would
    delete my applications.

    Would anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
