  1. Invisible WDADesktopservice.exe window and unable, now, to wirelessly cast to my Onn RokuTV

For the past maybe, 2 weeks, I've not been able to cast wirelessly my laptop to my Onn RokuTV, where I previously had no issue doing. Also, maybe for the same amount of time, i've been noticing a blank WDADesktopservice window in my Alt-Tab list, which always open when i sign-in to that laptop's desktop.

  2. Windows 11 will not cast to my 50" ONN. Roku TV.

The ONN Roku is out of warranty. And if I contact them I can not say with certainity the problem is with the TV. I have cast from Windows to this TV successfully using wifi from three different routers. Netgear, AT&T Broadband and TP-Link. I only had an issue when I upgraded to XFINITY router wifi.

Using XFINITY wifi, my Windows computers successfully cast to My LG, Samsung, Poloroid SMART TVs and my Roku Streaming Stick but not the ONN. Using the XFINITY wifi, my phone and Tablets successfully connect to the ONN TV, but not my computers.

I thought about turning off the firewall on the XFINITY, but I don't want to be completely unprotected. The computers are protected by Windows, but it's the only thing between my mobile devices and total chaos. And the firewall settings on the XFINITY are very general with Maximum, Typical, and Minimum.

Nothing can logically explain why all devices operate as intended on the XFINITY wifi and can communicate with each other, but Windows and this ONN TV cannot.

I have been wrestling with this issue for months trying every suggested correction, disconnection, software and firmware upgrade and app install with no success. My current solution is not ideal but it solves my problem so I'm willing to just let it go for now and just be happy I can put away the HDMI cord.

  3. Cast windows desktop to a projector wirelessly through home network

My projector has a wireless connection to the home network. Is there some way of sending the windows desktop to the projector? The PC is not a laptop!

Projector advertises can connect a phone wirelessly thru the network. It is nothing I have attempted to do yet.

Right now I use a firestick or an HDMI switch and a cable and bypass the windows 10 pc, but would be nice to just not have the HDMI cable snaking along the floor.
There does exist HDMI wireless senders and receivers, but they are very pricey.

How to Wirelessly Mirror Windows to a Projector?
Did find the above and perhaps using google chrome to cast itself to the projector, does EDGE do cast like Chrome?

For a non mira cast projector

"Unlike Apple AirPlay, Google Cast also works in the Windows environment, although differently from Miracast. For many people who are more comfortable with Android-based apps, Google Cast may be a very appealing choice. However, Google Cast requires using Google Chrome, which is not compatible with Wi-Fi Direct. So, you can’t simply press Windows + K/Windows +P to create a direct connection between your laptop (or tablet) and a smart projector.
What you can do is open up Chrome, then click the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the screen. Look down and you’ll see the “Cast…” prompt. Click on it and you’ll see the BenQ EH620 listed as a found device. Click on it to begin the mirroring process. Unlike Miracast, Google Cast requires external Wi-Fi so both your source device and the smart projector you’re connecting to need to be on the same wireless network, or SSID. We have more information regarding this if you’re interested."

I installed Miracast on the android phone, and phone connects wirelessly to the projector.

    Does windows do miracast?

So far not finding much, but the DXDIAG report says this PC supports Miracast.

  4. Invisible WDADesktopservice.exe window and unable, now, to wirelessly cast to my Onn RokuTV

Windows 11 will not cast to my 50" ONN. Roku TV.

I have 2 laptops and 1 desktop running Windows 11. None of them can cast to my ONN. Roku TV. I have tried that disable firewall solution to not avail. The only firewall I have running is Windows Defender and it is set to always allow displays. I have even tried turning Defender off to no avail. Windows 11 sees all my other SMART TVs, but not this one. It even sees my Roku stick in the den. All my Android Devices have no issue casting to the ONN. Roku.

When I first got the TV, Windows 11 was able to cast to it, but lost the connection identifier when I turned it off, and I would have to reboot the computer to re-establish. Now...nothing.

Everything is on the same router and the TV is visible when I look at connected devices in Windows 11 Networking. Router reboot also has not worked
