Windows 10: Invoke keeps asking to be paired

    Windows keeps shutting down or telling me to pair my HK Invoke. Whenever it does, I need to dismiss the pairing, disconnect the device, and then have it 'search' for the device in order to re-connect it. To say this is tiresome and not professional is an understatement. Is there some sort of 'fix' so that I can have the Invoke registered as an audio music device permanently?

    Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft Community Forums.

    Try to uninstalling and reinstalling the Cortana Device Setup app and check if you're able to complete the setup. Invoke Works with select music services, paid subscriptions may be required. I suggest you to try reset Invoke, follow
    the below steps, and check if that helps.

    1. Attach Power Cable
    2. Press and Hold the Mic Mute Button until Cortana Says, “Ready for setup.”
    Note: the Invoke will not function until properly set up and linked to a Microsoft account.

    It can be due to several factors that affect the pairing of both devices. Device compatibility is one possible reason why it won't pair. Another one could be that the device's driver needs reinstallation. At this point, we'd like to ask the following to
    help us verify why it won't connect:

    • Were there any changes, recent updates, and newly installed applications on your device that may have affected your computer's performance? Especially when updating to version 1709 (Fall Creators Update).
    • To avoid repetition, can you provide us with all the troubleshooting steps that you've done so far?
    • Are you getting any exact error messages or error codes when pairing?
    • Are you pairing it with the computer only or through an application?

    Additionally, we suggest that you run the fix-it program for devices and hardware to diagnose any errors and correct it.
