Windows 10: Invoking Microsoft Photos from a program

I have a program that invokes executes or starts Office 2010 Picture Manager when it wants to display an image in detail. I want to update the program to use Microsoft Photos. The Photos program resides at C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Windows.Photos_2022.31110.14005.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\PhotosService\PhotosService.exe which is a read inhibited directory. The usual tools to execute a system command will not work because they cannot read the executable. How can a program start Photos to display a picture.

As I understand that you are not able to see Photo Explosion in the list of default programs, I would suggest you to follow few steps to set Photo Explosion as your default program.

• 
  In the search bar type Default programs and press enter
  
• 
  Click on associate a file type or protocol with a program
  
• 
  Select the file type which you want to associate with the photo Explosion.
  
• 
  After selecting click on change programs
  
• 
  Check whether you are able to see Photo Explosion in the list.

Have Invoke play music that is currently playing on my PC

Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft Community Forums.

Try to uninstalling and reinstalling the Cortana Device Setup app and check if you're able to complete the setup. Invoke Works with select music services, paid subscriptions may be required. I suggest you to try reset Invoke, follow
the below steps, and check if that helps.

1. Attach Power Cable
   
2. Press and Hold the Mic Mute Button until Cortana Says, “Ready for setup.”
   

Note: the Invoke will not function until properly set up and linked to a Microsoft account.

Microsoft signals end of Paint program

Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to offer its graphics program Paint.

In a recent update, it had listed Paint as a feature that would be either removed or no longer developed.

Paint, renowned for its simplicity, has been part of the Windows operating system since its launch in 1985.

Microsoft suggested it would not remain on Windows 10 by default but did say it would be available for free on the Windows Store.
