IP configuration not valid - interference from ethernet adapter?

Hi guys, I have a self built desktop that I only connect to the internet with using WiFi. But lately the connection on this PC is very intermittent and this is the only device in my house with this problem (so it's not the modem/router?). My PC has an Asus P8Z77-V motherboard with an Intel 82579V ethernet adapter and a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wifi adapter, and I am running W10. Admittedly, I don't know much about networking but regardless this problem seems mind boggling!
Many times throughout the day my wifi connection will become 'Limited' and I cannot access the internet. I've noticed that during these times my IP address assigned by DHCP will be some useless 169.x.x.x number, but the strange part is sometimes the problem can be fixed by disabling my Intel ethernet adapter in Device Manager. Of course this is only temporary and I have even 're-fixed' the problem by enabling the same adapter after I have already disabled it.
I have even tried disabling the ethernet controller in BIOS in a moment of frustration but it didn't have any effect.
Windows troubleshooting gives me a variety of messages, most often 'IP configuration for wi-fi is not valid'. I suspect the ethernet adapter is interfering with this somehow but the troubleshooting application has also told me my security settings for the network are wrong, which I know they are not, or that there is a 'problem with the wireless adapter or access point'.

Thank you for any help you all can give! This is driving me batty *Tongue

Here is my ipconfig /all while I have managed to have my wifi working (this time with the Intel ethernet adapter enabled).

IP configuration not valid - interference from ethernet adapter?

Have you checked Asus website for updated drivers. As for the Wifi, if it is a USB adapter, you need to also check and see if there are any up to date drivers on the manufacturer website that made the adapter.

Thank you both for your suggestions!
I've done both of those things but I'm still having the same issue.

Both the ethernet and wi-fi cards are on my motherboard. I've done as you suggested and updated both driver sets to the most recent set possible, and I've even tried rolling back the WiFi drivers to a very old configuration. Maybe I should try the same with the ethernet card *Tongue I'm running out of ideas!

Solution 1: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1or Windows 10

    Step 1:

Go to Device Manager → Network adapters.
    Step 2:

    Expand it (Network adapters).

    Step 3:

    Select your network adapter

    Step 4:

Right click on your wireless network adapter or Ethernet adapter and then tap “Update Driver Software”.
(in this case your network adopter is Ethernet adopter so tap your Ethernet adapter)
    Step 5:

Now on a new window you will need to click on “Browse my computer for driver software”.

Solution 2: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1,windows10

    Step 1:

    Open command prompt.
    Step 2:

Just go on hitting the enter after typing the each command.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
    Step 3:

Now to check if the settings are disabled type:
    netsh int tcp show global
    then hit enter.
    Step 4:

Now the thing left is just rebooting your system and just check if the problem is solved or not and just give feedback.*chuckle*Thumbs

  8. IP configuration not valid - interference from ethernet adapter?

I tried both of these solutions (have same problem, but to expand, my wireless doesn't connect to the internet either), and neither worked. Have intel AC 7260 wireless, and Atheros AR81g1 Ethernet (NDIS 6.30). Hope someone comes up with a solution soon. Windows 10 has been working....well, OK, for about a year on my personal laptop. My system bricked when I installed the Windows 10 Anniversary edition. Had backup on 2TB external drive. I installed clean windows 10, and all worked fine, including internet access on both wireless and ethernet, but needed to reinstall from my backup because of a lot of programs, and data there. Backup was about a month old (yeah, I know, backup more frequently). After a successful backup, I again attempted to install anniversary update. This time it installed successfully, and all appeared good until I tried to access the internet. Now my case is per above. Can't access from either Ethernet or wireless. It connects fine to my router (which I'm connected to on my company laptop right now), but it will NOT connect to the internet. HELP!!
