    My modem is Actiontec and I have never had a problem connecting an ethernet to it and straight to my yealink ip phone for work. I have reset my modem and tried to figure out the settings in mircorsoft windows 10 on my pc but I am having no luck. it worked until last Saturday, I may have changed a setting I wasn't supposed too? I tried to back up my computer back to Saturday oct 6th with no luck My phone is saying IPv4: but there is no listing of ip address there so it says no service, but I am connected to the internet with ethernet and wifi? I tried to go to change adapter settings and turn on ipv4 and ipv6 with little or no luck I really need this to work so I can work from home again, My cell is 678-559-5606 or email address *** Email address is removed for privacy *** or work email *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

    Networking Issue Vista/XP

    Sounds like a local (LAN) IP address conflict somewhere. Have you turned on DHCP on your router? Are all your computers DHCP clients (automatic IP address)?
    • When it's working check the IP address of each device.
    • When it's NOT working check the IP address of each device.
    • Are there any other devices on your network? Does your router have a network address database? Can you see ALL devices that are attached to the router? If so, list them and their IP addresses.

    That's actually been happening in Windows for a long time, even back to windows 8 I was seeing it randomly appear (it can be different devices). It seems to be some kind of false positive detection.

    Some suggest that this is neighbors connecting to your wifi network. The idea is that the MAC address may be propogated, even though these neighbors are not actually authorized for your network (ie, your router is advertising these mac addresses, but they can't actually use your network, but for some reason they still show up in the list of connected devices).

    When you check your WIFI router, the devices won't be listed there, since they haven't been given IP's.. but something in the network architecture still allows MAC advertisement.
