Windows 10: Ip ver4...Ip ver6 has failed then goes into repair mode

When in repair mode I can select the options but when I exicute any option it always comes back saying there was an error and my machine has not started correctly and goes to restart the computer or access advanced options....and just stays in this cycle...I believe this all started after some updates but as I said I'm unable to roll back the updates......I'm unable to access anything to make any type of change...I have a Windows startup usb drive but can't access it........would appreciate some advice please....

Finding IP address

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.

No valid ip configuration

Hi,

Let us try the methods below and observe:

First Method: Reset both TCP/IP stack and winsock.

Sometimes winsock or the TCP/IP stack gets corrupted. To reset TCP/IP stack and winsock, please follow these steps:

• Open Command Prompt (Admin)
• Type the following commands one at a a time and hit Enter after each command:
  

netsh winsock reset catalog

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit

Second Method: Release and renew IP address.

To release and renew IP address, please follow these steps:

• Open Command Prompt (Admin)
• Type ipconfig /release and hit Enter
• Type ipconfig /renew and hit Enter
• Type Exit and hit Enter

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to try these steps to Flush DNS and request a new IP address from your ISP server. Check if it helps.

  Click on
  Start and type cmd on start search.
  
• 
  Right-click on command prompt Run
  and selectas administrator.
  
• 
  At the command prompt, type the following commands and hit
  Enter after each command.
  

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /registerdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

exit
