Windows 10: iPhone 8 hotspot

I am having problems my computer does not connect to iPhone 8 hotspot. Does anyone has had the same problem? How to resolve it?

Iphone 6 Tmobile Tethering Mobile Hotspot No Internet

I have a Iphone 6 that has a personal hotspot that I have been trying to connect to my laptop via USB and Wifi. I currently have Windows 10 running on my HP Envy dv6 C2Y45AV. I also taken necessary steps to harden the system against viruses and attacks.
So far the only issues that I am having is trying to tether with my Iphone's personal hotspot. I can connect other devices such as tablets to the hotspot but with no luck with my laptop.

The laptop and Iphone 6 will show that the devices is connected but with "no internet".

My laptop will however connect via ethernet and wifi just not via hotspot.

I have the current version of Itunes and the IOS on my Iphone 6 is current.

I would greatly appreciate some step by step guide to resolve my issues with connecting to a hotspot.

• Have you tried changing the password of the Wifi hotspot and update the password on your phone?
  Per your question, I just completed this: Edited my wifi hotspot password to a different one, "forgot" that wifi hotspot on my iPhone, selected it again and used new password, the iPhone was given a secure connection
  (indicated by the locked lock icon) but again in red reads "No Internet Connection." Clicking IPhone info, the suggestion was to reboot my modem, which I did and then reboot my pc (because doing that 3 times fast in the 90s worked magic) but to no avail.

• Have you tried connecting different device on your Wifi hotspot and check if the issue persists?
  I have tried all the same steps mentioned above with my ipad as well...both, however, have the same ios. The ipad pro did not work either and had same result.

• Have you tried to connect your phone to different Wifi hotspot and check if the issue persists?
  Both ipad and iPhone have used wifi hotspots seamlessly around the world several times with no issues. I run my iPhone hotspot and my ipad pro connects to it as does dell/win10.
  

I am guessing here, but i think the closest i have come to a resolution was to tinker with my mcafee firewall to try and "allow" my iPhone ipaddress through but I followed steps and it did not work. Plus, that just
sounds to superuserish to me. However, my windows defender firewall is off and mcafee firewall is on...to complete the scenario.

This is a fairly default setup I have along with thousands of other dell pc's sold with win 10 and mcafee. I am shocked how elusive this setup is.

Can only use iPhone hotspot once, then it won't appear again

After connecting to my iphone hotspot (iPhone SE running 10.2) it works fine, but if I disconnect I'm unable to see the iphone in my list of networks. It's still broadcasting, because other devices are able to "see" and connect to it, just not my laptop.
This has been going on for my last two phones (iPhone 6 and 6S). It has survived multiple iOS revisions, factory resets of these phones, and re-installation of Windows 10.

These are the troubleshooting steps that DON'T help:

-disabling and re-enabling the hotspot

-disabling and re-enabling wi-fi on both devices

-rebooting both devices

-Doing the whole dance (disable wi-fi on both, shut down both, boot up both devices, enable wi-fi on each in turn, search and refresh networks)

-upgrading wireless adapter drivers.

I can only seem to get it working again by doing one of the two following workarounds:

1. CHANGING the password (WPA Key) on the iPhone's hotspot - then I'm able to see it again and connect with the NEW password.

2. Deleting the iPhone's SSID from the list of Windows 10 "known networks". Then it's able to see the phone again.

So my workaround for now is to always un-check the "Connect automatically" option when I'm joining the hotspot each time, but that means having to type the WPA Key every single time I want to use the hotspot - BUT sometimes it "remembers" it anyway, so I
have to use one of the two options above.

I'd really like a better solution. Any ideas?
