  1. Iphone ntot showing up in device manager

Hey, trying to connect the iPhone to iTunes, it does the connections sounds and comes up with the question to trust the computer and connect, then nothing else happens. When I look in device manager there is no portable devices connected. I have tried different cables and USB ports. The phone connects to another computer with no problem. I can connect the external hard drive to USB and that works.

Any idea of how to solve this problem?

    Thanks

    Isabel

  2. iPhone Driver showing up in wrong Device Manager sub category.

My iPhone is not being recognised by iTunes on my new laptop. (Windows 10)

I have taken every step advised by Apple and Microsoft, reinstalling software etc, checking drivers, making sure apple device managers are running etc.

I do notice however, that the driver, for my iPhone, within Device Manager, shows up under Portable Devices, rather than Universal Serial Bus controllers.

I have uninstalled the driver, re-plugged the phone into the computer at the same happens. Everywhere I read about iPhone Windows 10 drivers, mentions that is should be listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers.

    Anybody have any ideas?

  3. Apple iPhone in Autoplay list

I am unable to remove the listing in Autoplay for Apple Iphone and I spent numerous hours trying to remove it with no luck at all. I followed the steps using the registry as well, still it is shown on the AutoPlay listing.
Spoke to one IT helpdesk agent and said the only way to get rid of it is to just reinstall Windows in order to remove that option from the list.

I even re-inserted my iPhone to my machine and uninstalled the drivers from Device Manager under Portable Devices.

Obsolete devices in Autoplay list multiple entries for same - Microsoft Community

Update >> I managed to remove it under Devices and Printers. Looks like it does not work under Device Manager.

iPhone shown as Unspecified in Devices and Printers

    Hi Dimitri,

Not sure if this is a help but my iPhone 6/iOS 9.2.1 shows in 'Devices & Printers' as well as 'This PC' identically to your 2 screenshots.....perhaps that is intentional?

I guess this jars on you (it does with me*Sad). I would like to see it suitably listed as say 'Portable Devices' or 'Mobile Devices' and displayed with appropriate custom iconsIphone ntot showing up in device manager :)

If it transpires that this is correct, perhaps the forum Gurus could suggest how we might customise Windows 10 to display them in a more 'visibly appealing' format......

    Any thoughts guys???
