    When I bought my new Asus PN50-E1 on 08/06/21 I installed 21H1 and had nothing but trouble. The taskbar icons moved around or disappeared and I had problems with my speakers so I wiped it and installed 20H2 instead, and all was OK. I then in update options set the date as far forward as I could to stop it updating again. I read on this forum the faults with 21H1 have since been resolved but am still reluctant to upgrade. Has anyone else had such problems resolved with a later update patch or reinstalled 21H1 in the last week to cure a similar problem ? I will make a Macrium backup before doing anything from now on to save such updates ruining my day.

    So, did you or did you not try to run an in-place repair install with either v1703 or v1709 ISO?

    Honesty, a repair install is the best bet, short of a clean install.

    Here are the basic steps:
    Download the latest ISO, save it to your computer.
    Right-click the ISO and select MOUNT or Open With File Explorer
    Find the setup.exe file
    Double-click it to run
    Let it go through the motions of installing W10 - select Keep Personal Files and Apps.

    The Windows update list of installed updates has always been a confusing & incomplete list. I don't think you had a problem at all.

    so to upgrade from 20H2 to 21H1 has two steps:
    1. install EP
    2. install update, but which one? for x64 arch. thx
