  1. Is a local account more secure than the Microsoft account?

I had been using the Microsoft account to log into my PC until I noticed my email address was found in the dark Web and my airbnb account was hacked. I then changed my Microsoft account and email passwords and switched using the local account. But I'm confused. Even though I switched to logging in using the local account, the information are still stored in the same hard drives and my Microsoft account still exists even though I do not use it much. Can someone stiill hack into my PC via my Microsoft account and steal the information? Greatly appreciated for clarification.

    :)

Windows 8 with 2 Microsoft accounts?

I was thinking of doing that, but it will be a PITA setting everything up on the 2nd account again. I might go that way and just spend the time getting the account in order.

The problem is, I would need to switch at the start of every day. Extra reset and waiting for the settings to be applied etc. Also, I'm not sure whether one drive would be maintained after switching back to a local account. I wouldn't want to have to re-sync every time I logged in. I may have to do some testing to see if onedrive is maintained after switching back to a local account.

  4. Is a local account more secure than the Microsoft account?

    Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are
    • Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
    • No Internet connection during the install
    • static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)
