Windows 10: Is anyone having issues with icons of apps not displaying properly in the start bar?

This doesn't happen every time I open apps and it's not always the same apps. It's the ones that are currently correct. Apps that regularly display just as the generic icon. This stupid system won't let me upload an image of the icon and doesn't have an error message. I tried reducing the size of the image and the file type The icon is a white box with a blue rectangle in the middle, with small grey horizontal lines on either side of the blue box. I'm guessing it's like a generic app icon. Apps that regularly display this way but not always:-Figma-Adobe cc apps-Outlook-Teams-Affinity Designe

Lost (no display) Icons and folders in Start and in Apps list


I inadvertently clicked on a programme and not looking properly clicked an acceptance to change the DPI, it was this little app, Windows 10 DPI Fix,

The two first pics are from a NEW login I created and, as anyone can see, there are icons like there should be and folders in apps section of the Start menu but
The second two are from my main login and as can be seen, the icons and the folders have disappeared. I am guessing that I have caused a fault in my main profile
And I am sure that there is some way to fix this? I have searched Google and here for answers and have also tried the MS route with little joy so, I am asking
if anyone has had this happen to them and, were you able to fix this without a reinstall or uninstall of programmes and reinstall? Thanks in Advance.

 

Some icons will not display properly

Hi,

Having blank application icons on your desktop can be caused by many factors such as file corruption, icon cache issues, and more. To narrow down the issue, we need to ask a few questions:

• Were there any changes made to your computer settings prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have your done so far?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you reset the Windows Explorer process from
Task Manager which may correct this type of issue. Below are the steps to do it:

• Right-click on your task bar, then choose Task Manager.
• Highlight Windows Explorer on the Processes
  tab.
• Click Restart.

You can also try running the System File Checker tool and
Deployment Image Servicing and Management with the steps on this
link. This will scan and correct system file corruption which may be causing your icons to be blank.

Onedrive icons not displaying properly!


I have a very weird issue where the folder and file symbols associated with onedrive (sync, OK or ERROR symbols) are not displayed when navigating the onedrive folder on my PC. All the files and folders only display the sync symbol while the onedrive app in the taskbar shows that there are no files syncing.
The issue become even weirder when i manually navigate to my onedrive folder on my E drive --> E:\onedrive\. Here all the icons ARE displayed correctly. As seen in the image below, the only difference between the folders is the path, where one is directly linked as the onedrive folder, while the other is the actual path on my harddrive. Similarly, the library access in the sidebar also displays the symbol issue.



I've already been able to resolve the issue abit, seeing as previously my onedrive was constantly syncing unknown files and would never display the symbols correctly, however I'm now comletely stuck with this issue after forcing a full reinstall of onedrive and completely resyncing all my files.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?
