Windows 10: Is Bitlocker disabling Windows Search?

I am running Windows 10 pro V2004

I have bitlocker encryption running on my 2 disks C: System and apps. Data

Search indicates that it has indexed 125000 files.

I have set the search options to index "Index encrypted files"

The index location is C:\programdata\Microsoft

The included locations are D:. MS outlook.


However when I search for a document it gives 0 results.


I have run the troubleshooter but to no avail.

Also rebuilt the index.
I am now wondering if Bitlocker is disabling the search?

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

1. Press Windows key + X and click on
Control Panel.

2. Change View by from Category
to Large Icons/Small Icons.

3. Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
Turn BitLocker Off.

4. Follow on screen instructions. Click on
Decrypt the Drive when the message appears.

Disable Web Search Results in Windows 10 Start Menu

Disabling web results in the search box depends on the version and build of your Windows 10. We suggest checking the Windows 10 version and build installed on your computer. To check the version and build, follow the steps below:

• On Cortana search, type winver and press
  Enter.
• A pop-up box will appear containing the version and build of your operating system.

Meanwhile, you can try these steps on how to disable web results in the search box:

• Click the search box in the taskbar.
