Windows 10: Is Enabling Insecure Guest Logons Okay?

I now have access to my NAS Drive and thats because I went to the local group policy editor and set it to enabled but I'm not sure if I should use it, I'm using it because I keep getting the error Windows Cannot access \\SERVER NAME And then the error code 0x80070035, Now these are the steps I've tried and dont work.

• Setting all the services to Automatic, For Example SSDP Discovery
• Tried Temporarily Disabling my Antivirus and the firewalls as well
• Resetting TC/IP
• Uninstalling and reinstalling Network Adapters

I've tried contacting the manufactuer of the NAS Drive which is Western Digital and they said the NAS Drive is completely fine so its something to do the Windows 10 itself and by the way its the 1803 version I'm on and I'm using Enterprise edition

Error 0x80070035 Fixed by enabling insecure guest logons

So we changed from a wireless to a wired network and one of the computers could not access the server computer giving error code 0x80070035.

After much trouble shooting. I've tried resetting sharing options, turning off and on firewalls, signing in with the same user name and password. Making sure services are turned on and automatic. Resetting the whole computer and doing a fix for the homegroup
removal. Previous problems at this post: Error code 0x80070035

But this one computer is still being a problem. I finally solved it by enabling "Enable insecure guest logons".

I don't like this solution long term at all. From my reading this is not a good thing. Is there a work around? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Voytek,

To remove the guest account from your start screen, we suggest that you try the following steps:

• Right-click Start menu, then select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Enable guest account first by typing net user guest /active:yes, then press
  Enter.
• Disable guest account by typing net user guest /active:no, then press
  Enter.
• Perform a
  clean boot in Windows.

Guest account disappeared...
