Thanks Emily, I was searching for an owner's manual on Microsoft Edge when a full screen image popped up with audio. It blocked my ability to get out or use Win R or Ctrl WIn Q. It had a very official Microsoft look with logos, but I knew better than to call their number and I thought I was being hacked.

I pulled out my phone and searched for a Microsoft Support Number. The first number was actually from sites.google.com but they didn't sound legit so I hung up and made sure I was on a Microsoft link to get another number.

I ended up with Esource Software Solutions LLC. They asked me to immediately disconnect from the internet. They walked me through using task manager to end Microsoft Edge. I then reconnected and gave them access. They used CCleaner Pro and Webroot to clean me up.

After I calmed down and did some research, it looks like I overreacted. I was only being phished and since I didn't click a link or call their number, I was probably OK.

Esource wants $249 for one year of phone support so I was trying to find out if they were Microsoft approved. At this point I'm not sure I really need them.
