Windows 10: is facial recogintion signon possible on a desktop running windows 10

I purchased as webcam, thinking I could do facial recognition windows sign-on as I do on my Surface Book. Couldn't get it to work. Support technician where I purchased the webcam said no, the motherboard for ALL desktop computers does not support facial recognition.


Can anyone say whether it is possible?

trying to turn off the Facial Recognition feature for Windows Hello or for the
Windows 10 Camera app?

If you are requesting to turn off the Facial Recognition feature for Windows Hello, you can follow these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click Sign-in options.
• Under Picture password, click Remove.

However, we have yet to include the option to turn off Facial Recognition feature in Windows 10 Camera app. We suggest that you
submit a suggestion to our Feedback Hub. Your feedback helps us continually improve your experience with our products. To submit a feedback, follow the instruction below:

• Open the Windows 10 Camera app.
• Click the Gear icon located at the upper right corner of the screen.
• Scroll down, click Send Feedback.

I can not use facial recognition on my PC with windows 10 while I could under Windows 8.

questions for you:

  When did this issue start?

  Were there any changes made before the issue occur?
  
• 
  Does your Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 8?
  
• 
  Have you tried updating your drivers?
  
• 
  What other troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
  

We suggest that you run the
Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter
and check if there's any changes. To run the
Troubleshooter, follow these steps:

• 
  On the search bar, type
  Troubleshooting
  and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  Choose
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on
  Hardware and Devices
  to run the
  Troubleshooter.

We need to do further investigation on your concern so that we will know why the facial recognition quit working:

• Have you recently made any changes/updates prior to this issue?
• Is there an error message when you try to sign using facial recognition?
• What is the make and model of your computer?
