Is Intel core i5 6400 CPU Windows 11 compatible?

My i5 has a quad core 2.8ghz processor. I upgraded to 16GB RAM. That's the only upgrade I did. It works beautifully and there's no reason I should need to buy a new computer.

Why wasn't Win11 designed and tested to ensure ALL end users have access to the same upgrades? It seems the same error rookie designers who create apps that only run on mobiles make.

Is the component list accurate? W11 is supposed to be compatible with a 6400 chip. According to MS minimum specs, there is absolutely no reason W11 won't work with my desktop.

Note that Microsoft said that they will let machines that do not meet their processor requirements into the Insider dev channel while they reconsider the list of supported processors. However, if that processor isn't supported on release of Windows 11, your machine's eligibility to the Insider program (and Windows 11) will become invalid and you will have to reinstall Windows 10 as a fresh operating system.

The 6th generation of Intel Core processors (example: i5-6400) does not appear to be under consideration at all. Do not mislead any one on this forum. The current minimum is Intel Core 8th generation processors, with 7th generation processors under consideration.

I would advise anyone who tries to install Windows 11 on a machine that does not meet the requirement to have a solid backup of their data and be prepared for the possibility that they will be cut off from Windows 11 before the year is over.

As we have discovered over time, it's not performance as much as security features, that make the difference. Did the WhyNotWin11 app show anything red? Or just yellow, for CPU generation?

I've noticed this, when CPUs show up red instead of yellow or green. Not sure whether its always true, but it has been in my checks, to respond to questions on this forum.

Notice that "no" which I highlighted in bold? If there's any "no" in this section, possibly the CPU won;t be acceptable. I know. It seems like a racket.
