Windows 10: Is it okay to use my old boot drive nvme to a new motherboard?

Is it okay to switch my old nvme to a new motherboard, because my old motherboard broke down duo to corrosion, I'm stills buying the same model of the motherboard, I'm asking if it's okay to use my old boot drive nvme without erasing anything on it?

Will I destroy my ability to boot Windows if I delete the hidden partitions on an old OS drive?

I hope makes sense, I haven't dealt with boot loaders for years.

I had Win 11 running on a Gen3 NVMe drive.

I installed a new mobo and decided on a fresh install on a new Gen4 NVMe drive.

The problem is: I installed the new OS while keeping the old NVMe drive in the mobo.

Now when I startup my system, I have two OS location options and I'm wondering if Windows has placed it's boot loader in a hidden partition of the old drive.

For example, BIOS lists both NVMe drives at the same time and lists the older drive in the summary in the boot priority.

Basic Question:

Is it ok to delete the hidden partitions on the old NVMe drive?

I don't know how in Windows to access the boot manager (Linux, etc... is not difficult), but is there a way to edit the boot sequence so the old drive is no longer pointed to and - if needed - move the boot loader, etc...

Installing new NvMe drive and using it as primary boot runnig windows 10

Hello,

I have a preinstalled windows 10 along with 30+ apps(both from manufacturer and third party) running on my desktop. I recently bought the Samsung 960 evo NvMe drive and would like to use it as my new boot drive. I know that I have to create a bootable usb
drive, disconnect all other SSD/HDD, leave only the NvMe drive, install windows on it and then reconnect all the drives back.

I would like to understand how I could create an ISO image of my preinstalled windows 10(along with all the updates, hardware drivers and apps) and make a bootable USB out of it. Is it possible? if so, could anyone list the steps needed or point me to a
thread or post online? Thank you.

 

bios keeps switching my boot drive

If your NVMe drive is not showing up in the boot priority list, it's possible that the BIOS settings may need to be adjusted. Here are a few things you can try:

Make sure that your NVMe drive is properly installed and recognized in the BIOS. Check to see if it appears in the list of storage devices in the BIOS.

Check to see if there is an option to enable NVMe support in the BIOS. This option may be located in the storage or boot options.
