  1. Is it possible for a user in administrator group to apply Local GPO for the administrator?

I moved a user account to Administrator group from Users Group in my local machine. From this user account that is in administrator group, I am trying to create a Local GPO that hides a specific drive for administrator. I am able to create one but that policy is not affecting the administrator account. When i login as an administrator i am still able to view that Drive in My Computer.

    :)

  2. How to add a LOCAL user to the local "administrators built-in group using GP preferences?

How to add a LOCAL user to the local "administrators built-in group?

I´ve disabled the default local "administrator" built-in user and created a new "root" local account to serve as local user with administrative privileges

Now, I need to use the GPO Preferences to add this local "root" user to the default "administrators" group alongside with others domain grupos

It´s partixally working, the GPO preferences are able to add my domain groups to the local "administrators" group, but it´s unable to add my local "root" user to the local "administrators" group, eve using %COMPUTERNAME%\root or root, or whatever

    How can I do this?

Applying 3 local GPO´s to 3 different Local Groups

    Hello!
Hoping this is the right category Is it possible for a user in administrator group to apply Local GPO for the administrator? :)

So i have this issue where i need to have role separation on local level, not domain.
    3 groups with different accesses/permissions from GPO´s.
    for ie:
Group 1 can use windows installer and scripts but not change time
Group 2 can change time but not use windows installer and scripts
Group 3 can not do anything above but run office apps, open documents/desktop and 1 or 2 more apps rest is blocked.

Therefore i need 3 GPO´s to apply to these 3 groups.
Apply Local Group Policy to Specific User in Windows 10

Followed this guide but my 3 groups arent showing up as they aint seem to be compatible....so my idea is now that i create the GPOs in a domain with the correct group name and then export + convert to local GPO by using: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/...-0/ba-p/701045

But then I think that the GPOs wont hit as they wont find the groups :/

    So my questions is:
    - Is above possible to get done?
    - Will the GPO hit even though the editor cant find my groups compatible?
    - How else to do it to get the groups separated with different permissions/accesses from GPOs?

Been at it and googling like hell for 3 days but no success *Sad

  4. Is it possible for a user in administrator group to apply Local GPO for the administrator?

GPO to Run a specific application in the domin as administrator for a standard user account.

Hi All, We a have an application in our environment. it's been used by few users in different machines. The application needs administrator privileges to run. Temporarily I have created a service account and added it to the local administrator group. As the service account has elevated permission and due to security concerns company has decided to provide administrator access only to the specific application. I have been searching all these times to create GPO and apply it to the specific computers but nothing worked. Unfortunately I did not find one in the internet. I created GPO's and tested but nothing worked. Any suggestion ?
