Windows 10: Is it possible to backup my OS and programs and files on my old laptop to my new one?!?

I recently purchased a msi modern 15 i7 laptop. I got a old acer aspire 15 laptop with all my programs and files. It would be a hassle to manually move everything on a external hdd to my new computer. My question is...would it be possible to backup my old laptop exactly how it is, all the installed programs and files and restore it on my new laptop? Basically picking up where i left off?

I’m not the most advance when it comes to this kind of stuff so anything would help. Please link me to any videos or links to products I might need to achieve this.

PS: my new laptop don’t have a disk drive. I only have a 1tb external hdd.

Yes, that would be a favorable solution if possible. But it requires what I said as a first step. Once he gets booted into the OS, then he can either use it as is or try to recover the product key. I'm not saying he couldn't do what you said, I was replying to another post that suggested simply copy/pasting documents from the old hard drive.

 

Is it possible to easily setup Raid-1 on this system ?

Get the six core CPU's I listed, at 3.3Ghz per core they will more than handle any calculations you throw at them for years to come, and with matching RAM in tri channel you will have a very strong setup.


My only other suggestion is a full RAID card like the one I listed with SSD's (in RAID 1)for the OS and programs, and then a RAID 5 array for backup and any large files on the board with a offsite final backup
