Windows 10: is it possible to connect a Windows 11 laptop to a Windows 10 PC to use as a second monitor?

My laptop is Windows 11 and isn't being detected via HDMI as a monitor. I'm not sure if it's a settings issue, windows version issue, or something else.

using laptop as second monitor?

looking for either a mouse/keyboard share program or some way to use my laptop as a second monitor when i am at home. The laptop is windows 8 the desktop windows 7. i tried to download a program called Synergy but it led me to some weird 3rd party download host where they want you to download their installer, or their toolbar etc etc decided to not got that route. any other suggestions?

  Have you tried to connect the second monitor on a different port?
  

I suggest you to connect second display using a different port available on your PC and check if the second display works. If second display works in other port, then the possible cause for this issue may be discrete video card driver.


Let us try the following steps, and check it helps.

Step 1: Run the Hardware and Devices
troubleshooter.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.
