Hi, I searched a lot for this but did not found any solution.I'm testing it with a simple HTML/JS counter button when I click on that button, it increments from 1 to infinite number.I know when I connect to RDP, it uses my mouse and keyboard as input I hope I'm right, and I tried some ways like writing a python script or using auto clicker apps. But my issue is if I close the session or even minimize it, the click in the session does not either work and it stops because of having no input.I even tried with on-screen keyboard to simulate, but it doesn't work either. Is there anyway or any apps

    :)

Remote Desktop w/ diff keyboard/mouse layout on client and server

I have multiple computers running Win 10 21H1 in the house. Some have AZERTY keyboards. Other have QWERTY.
Some have wireless trackballs integrated with the keyboard on the left with L/R buttons reversed. Others have full size 4-button Kensington Trackball on the right side.

When I use Remote Desktop to login from one computer to the other, there is always a problem with the keyboard and mouse. Remote Desktop assumes the two computers are using the same type of keyboard and mouse, and everything gets messed up. Typing A becomes Q, and so on. And the buttons are logically inverted.

For the mouse issue, the only workaround is to manually reverse the buttons within the server (box one is connected to). However, the setting sticks, and the next time one uses that machine locally, the buttons will be reversed, and thus they have to be switched back and forth again.

For the keyboard, the only workaround is to add another keyboard entry to the server machine. Ie., I need to have both QWERTY and AZERTY keyboards configured. This causes the language bar to appear. It can be used to switch keyboard layouts back and forth. This again has to be done manually every time one connects remotely, or locally, just like the mouse.

The language bar is a tool I really hate. It has a hot key to switch layout that is very easily hit accidentally, involving alt + spacebar if I recall. Mishits happen multiple times a day, and cause keyboard layout to accidentally switch mid-sentence or even mid-word. Sometimes they will switch in one window and not another. And there is no way to override the hotkey. A tool called Autohotkey can work around the problem, but it is quite complex and one shouldn't have to go through that to fix it. For this reason, I really don't want to add a second keyboard entry to the OS, and don't want to use the language bar at all.

I think Remote Desktop just sends the client machine's local physical keyboard scan codes over the wire, and the server interprets them against the local keyboard setting, which is different. This is simply wrong. A similar thing happens with the mouse buttons. It is a nightmare. I have looked in the Remote Desktop client options, and not found anything to work around this.

Other remote access apps such as VNC don't have this problem. They send characters over the wire, rather than scan codes, and all is well. VNC is a lot slower at display than Remote Desktop, though.

Is there a solution to my problem ? Maybe the feature exists in the Remote Desktop client already, but is not exposed through the GUI, but rather, through an undocumented registry key, like so many other Windows features.

Or perhaps there is another Remote Desktop client not made by Microsoft that doesn't have this problem ?

  3. Microsoft Remote Desktop as Virtual Desktop

    Hi, Paul.

    Thanks for your answer.

I mean, when Remote Desktop is opened the only way to return to host is to summon RD's pop-up menu with mouse, minimize RD and then navigate to another app/virtual desktop. I found this method rather slow, especially when trying to use only the keyboard
    in the work.
