  1. Is it possible to keep Windows Update from deleting unsigned drivers?

We use a few Windows 10 Pro machines in a laboratory setting at work, and they use a particular piece of hardware to flash microprocessors with new code. The device works fine, even though it was made for XP, however the drivers for it are unsigned.

The problem is that every time there is a moderate to major Windows update, the update kills off the device drivers for this thing. Yes, I can reload them, but loading unsigned drivers in Win 10 is a royal pain in the butt and I would rather not have to do it every two weeks.

Is there any way to keep Windows from getting rid of these drivers?

    :)

  2. Is it possible to keep Windows 10 from displaying one's email address on the login screen?

    Hi,

I understand you want to hide your email address from the login screen.

For doing so you may use the Local account, but it will not sync. However you may try the below steps related to registry and check if that helps:

    1. Type regedit in Start Screen then open Registry Editor

    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

    3. Set dontdisplaylastusername to 1

    4. Right click then create a DWORD DontDisplayLockedUserID with value of
    3

Then all information here will be hidden, and will need to fill both username and password to login. Username can use email, or simply all lower cases first name (username is case insensitive).

To do so: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these
steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article

Is it possible to keep Windows 10 from displaying one's email address on the login screen?

I have had this issue since I had my laptop and upgraded it to Windows 8.1, but I am wondering if it is possible to prevent one's email address from showing on the login screen when starting a PC or a laptop. Also, if I decide to upgrade my PC to Windows
10, would it be possible to keep my login credentials the same as I have them now instead of it converting all of my settings to my current windows account that I use on my laptop?
