Is it possible to link a child's local user account on a PC Windows 10 to a Microsoft Account?

I want to link to a Micosoft Account to include them in a Family Safety App.It looks like it should be straightforward, but when I go to Settings / Accounts / Your Info there is no option to Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead'. There's just an option to 'Stop Signing in to all Microsoft apps Automatically'. Any thoughts? Thanks

    :)

Can a local user be changed to a child account?

    Windows 10 Home
    ver 1909

    Hello,

I'm trying to see if there's a way to change a local account (standard user) to a child account so it can be managed in the Microsoft Family?

I tried to follow the steps here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...1-c8f8cca1d52f

but there's no option for "family and other users".

They do not have Microsoft accounts. Do I need to basically create a new child account at Windows setup?

    Any assistance appreciated.

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Is it possible to link a child's local user account on a PC Windows 10 to a Microsoft Account? :(

Link child's Microsoft account to their Windows 10 local user account.

I have a Microsoft account where I've set up child accounts for my 2 kids. On our shared home PC, each of us have our own user account. I have logged into the PC and successfully signed into my Microsoft account. However, when I try to log into the PC using
one of my kids accounts and then attempt to sign into their Microsoft account, I get the message that "Another user on this device uses this Microsoft account, so you can't add it here." I believe this has something to do with these accounts be child accounts.
Here is what I am after but I need help accomplishing this.

    PC with 4 users

Me (local admin) + signed into my microsoft account

    Wife (local user)

Son (local user) + signed into his microsoft account

Daughter (local user) + signed into her microsoft account

We've been using this PC for over a year, so I don't want to delete their local accounts if I can prevent it. Please help.

    Thanks in advance.
