Windows 10: Is it possible to make only specific file open with a different program?

Hello

I am using Autohotkey language(or whatevcer that is) for one script

I've written the script in notepad and then in properties changed the default program that launches the file to Autohotkey, unsurprisingly all notepad files now try to open with this program/language/whateveryougetit

I added .anh at the end of notepad file I want to open with Autohotkey, no good, is there ANY way to default only this single file to Autohotkey?

If not, what are some notepad apps I could download and then do the same thing so that I "brick" some random app I wouldn't be using anyway(Notepad++ is a no no for this), I think this should work

I suggest you to refer the below steps to resolve the issue.



Step:



Make sure that you have set default program to open jpeg files on the computer.



1. Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button, and then
clicking Default Programs.

2. In Default Programs Click on:



a) Associate a file type or protocol with a program. Use this option to fine-tune default programs based on the file type or protocol.

For example, you can have all .jpg image files open using a specific program, and .bmp image files open using a different program.

b) In the list of file extension look for Jpeg files and make sure that you have program associated with it like Windows photo gallery.

To do that, you would need to right-click on the image that you want to open and on the menu choose "Open With". If the program that you wanted to use is not on the list, click on "Choose Another App", scroll down and then click on "More Apps"

Jump list File Explorer items not opening program

thanks for all suggestions have carried out most and found no difference so far. Will check out the clean boot tomorrow. John
