  1. Is it possible to quickly cut output to a monitor to force it to sleep?

    Hey all,

I don't know if I'm searching the wrong terms or if there's really no way to do this.

Anyways, I just added a second monitor to my setup on a vesa mount that's higher than my primary display.

Is there a way to cut output to a monitor with a keybind or something so the monitor will go to sleep?

Really it's because the power button is a good length away from where I'm sitting and I'd like to black the display out during games and videos without having to stand and reach for it.

Laptop goes to sleep to quickly

    Hi Teri,

Conflicts with the screensaver settings is one of the possible reasons why your laptop goes to sleep quickly. Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue? We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps in this

  3. Force Intel HDMI Audio Output Possible ?

Thank you for the suggestion , i did mention i use similar procedure in earlier post but then still see that intel should have made it simpler for us , now that we have to buy extra adapters and more wires adding more bulk on desk and losing quality or paying more to not to etc . all these blahs wouldn't be necessary if they would just add a manual toggle to force output audio and call it today .

Force Intel HDMI Audio Output Possible ?

I don't think it's Intel, probably Windows try to determine if the monitor has audio capabilities (TV) or not (plain PC monitor). If it doesn't have, then it doesn't output the audio to HDMI but plays through the computer speakers instead. The quality of the cable has nothing to do with it. If Windows cannot determine the capabilities of the device it might have (I guess) a database of known devices which of course are mostly well-known brands. If your device is OEM and not in the database Windows prevents audio output to be on the safe side. You can however right-click on the speaker icon on the task bar, select Sound Settings and then make the HDMI output default. This should force HDMI audio regardless of the monitor capabilities. The same can be done from Intel Graphics Properties in audio section.
