  1. Is it possible to repair windows after accidentally installing windows on the boot drive

The problem started when the ssd of my laptop wasnt alble to boot anymore. I got a new m.2 ssd and wanten to install windows on it. I did this by plugging it into my home pc and trying to install a clean copy of windows onto it. I did not have acces to a flash drive at the time, so decided I will just make a small partition for the flash on the new ssd and load the installer from there to the rest of the ssd. To create another bootable windows drive. This failed and I ended up with my home pc not being able to boot into windows anymore lets call this disc C, through the bios boot manager that

  3. why won't windows launch after install new MB and CPU?

    To repair windows properly-
    • Boot into install CD for XP (if you don't have one, go buy it. For the repair to work, it has to coincide with the version of XP you have).
    • Act as if you're going to install Windows, press "install windows", agree to license.
    • Wait for it to detect all previous installations of Windows. It will then ask if you would like to repair any of them.
    • Select the partition you want to repair, and then go play firsbee...or whatever you do for fun.

  4. Is it possible to repair windows after accidentally installing windows on the boot drive

Windows 7 booting off wrong drive?!?!?

Please move if this is in the wrong place.

I have two hard drives, a 1.5TB drive, and a 160GB drive. Windows is installed on the 1.5TB drive, as are all my files and programs. The 160GB drive has a bunch of old files, and apparently the bootmgr and boot folder. Nothing else is on the 160GB drive, other than media files etc.

If I remove the 160GB drive from the machine, windows refuses to boot, plug it back in, it works fine. The setup with two hard drives I have now is temporary, as the 160GB drive will go into another machine.

My question is, can someone give me a step by step on how to make windows force to boot off the 1.5TB drive, ignoring the 160GB drive in the boot process completely?
I don't know how to do this in Windows 7, on XP I would just run the /fixmbr command and its related ones.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Note: I would really really rather not have to wipe and reinstall, I know it can be done without one as I've had this issue with XP before.
