Windows 10: Is it possible to restore a system image to an external drive?

I have an SSD drive that has Win 10 that got so corrupted I am not able to boot into Recovery mode. Even a system repair disk does not work. It always goes into Automatic Repair and stays there forever. I've removed the SSD from the latop it was in and the drive passes all tests.On another external drive I have a System image that I made shortly before the above failure occurred. My question is can I 'restore' the system image to the now external SSD from my other drive? If so, then all I should need to do is reinstall the SSD in the laptop that it came from.Thanks for your assistance...

• Are you trying to restore the system image or create a system image?
  
• Are you able to see the external drive in File Explorer?
  
• Could you please briefly explain the procedure that you are following to initiate a system image restore?

Restore system image from a bitlocker encrypted external USB drive (Windows 10)

Hi,

I'm going to encrypt my C: drive with Bitlocker. I also want to save a complete system image on an external USB drive. Which shall be encrypted with Bitlocker as well.

My question:

Is is possible to restore a complete system image from a Bitlocker encrypted external USB drive?

My assumed experience:

My internal drive brakes and I replace it with a brand new drive. I connect the encrypted external USB drive (with the system image on it) at my laptop. I boot from a Win10 USB-Stick and go to the recovery/restore options. There I'm able to select the external
USB drive and have to enter my PIN/password to decrypt the drive. Than the restore process starts. After a reboot I'm back at my old environment.

Is that the case that will happen?
