Windows 10: Is it possible to restore the 'normal' task bar in File Explorer?

Windows 11 has dumbed down everything to Gaggle Chrome level. This is of little use and creates extra steps and work to accomplish useful tasks.In the prior version of Windows 10, I could select a file, click "Copy To" and a drop-down list would appear. I could then select where I wanted the item copied to and the task would be completed.In the disaster called Windows 11, all this is gone. Is there a way to restore it?Currently, it appears I need to click the stupid Icon that is for Copy and often it does not work. then I highlight the file and use "Ctrl C"Now I find the location I want it

File Explorer Task Bar icon not working Windows 10

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and all was fine. Two days later I attempted to uninstall an non-compatible program. This hung and was a major failure, leaving me with a semi-functioning Windows 10. I did a system restore to prior to the removal of
TuneUp Utilities 2011. Now everything seems fine except the File Explorer shortcut in the Task Bar. I can right click on it and get a list of folders and locations, but not properties to change the target. If I right click on it I get the attached message.
I have tried removing the shortcut and then manually creating a shortcut, first for Explorer.exe, then for File Explorer. Both will work on the desktop, but not if moved to the Task Bar. I would like to have my Task bar icon functional so any suggestions
would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you perform the steps below and check if the issue persist.

Method 1:

• Go to task manager. (To open press ctrl+alt+delete)
• Click on Details, select explorer.exe and click End Task.
• Go to file, located on the top left corner of task manager
• Type explorer.exe and click on OK.
• Restart computer and check.

If issue still persist proceed to the next method.



Method 2: System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and
restore corrupted files.

Note: Steps mentioned for Windows 8/8.1, will work fine with Windows 10.

File Explorer Jump List - Is This Normal?


I have File Explorer pinned to the task bar. The Jump List shows pinned folders and recently accessed folders only. It does not show recent or frequently accessed files. Is this normal behavior, or did I break something?
